1930s Style Shawl Collar Casual Day Dress with Fluttery A-Line Skirt Custom Made in Your Size From a Vintage Pattern 1931

This dress will be custom made for you in your size using a vintage pattern that is dated 1931. It features a mock surplice shawl collar with short kimono sleeves. The skirt is a long willowy a-line. Closes and ties oh the side. The original pattern calls for a snap closure along the side seam but I can use a zipper instead if you prefer. This dress is unlined and comes with a belt. Neat little detail- The second picture shows the original illustration from the pattern cover. If you look closely you will see the dress is in a cherry print! The third picture shows the dress on the right as illustrated in the 1931 'Quarterly news' pamphlet for the same pattern. I love how they used bright lime green for the fabric!

Please note that since this pattern is from the early 1930s, it will not fit like a modern garment. It is left a bit loose at the front waist where it is supposed to have a bloused effect when worn the belt. The pattern is made to fit a good 3" larger at the waist than your actual waist measurement, yet fitted at the bust and hips. This is typical of most pre 1933 styles.

This dress will be custom made for you to your measurements. Since it is made to order I can make it out of any fabric and color you want. This would be great in a cool summery cottons, dotted swiss, rayon crepe, rayon challis, satin crepe and sheers like georgette and lawn. I can make this in any fabric you want, it is up to you!
