Hello and welcome to Sew Vintage Seamstress! I wear 1910's - 1950's vintage style clothing every day. I am a dedicated vintage fashion enthusiast. After working in the vintage clothing market for many years I decided I wanted to start sewing repro vintage from vintage patterns to my own expectations- made EXACTLY as they would have originally been constructed. I majored in Fashion Design at FIDM to learn my trade. I have been a professional costume designer, pattern drafter and seamstress for over 20 years. Sewing for others of ALL sizes is my greatest passion. I am obsessed with vintage details - from the sewing technique, the trims, the embroidery, the studs and rhinestones, ah yes, the the details! I love making vintage repros that are repro to the extreme! if you want a newly made vintage garment made out of vintage repro prints or period correct fabrics with a vintage metal zipper and hand finished details I am your girl!

Don't see a pattern listed you like? I can hand draft ANY pattern from scratch! Simply message me and let me know what you want made and I can make it happen.

How it works:

1. Pick a pattern and place your order. Keep in mind I may need over 14+ weeks to complete your garment before it ships. depending on how many orders I currently have.

2. I do not keep any fabrics 'in stock' at my house. After the order is made I will message you and ask you what your vision is for your custom made item. What sort of fabric did you have in mind? What color scheme? I have included up to $12 per yard for the fabric into the cost of most garments. Most dresses take 3 -5 yards. If the fabric you choose is more expensive then the budgeted amount then there will be an additional cost to cover the added expense.

3. Once we sort out what type of fabric you want I will message you with links from my usual online fabric shops to some fabric swatches to choose from that I think you will like.

4. Alternatively, if you already have the fabric you want your garment made out of you may ship it to me to use for your order. In this case I will offer you a 15% discount since you have provided the fabric. Keep in mind I will need at least 3-4 yards minimum for most dresses.

5. Next I will message you with a full list of measurements I will need to make your garment fit perfectly. Heads up, you will need a tape measure!

6. Now just sit back and relax. Your order will be custom made for you.

PLEASE READ - My turn around time could be up to 14+ weeks depending on my current work load. I get a lot of orders and I am a one woman show hence the long wait. If you need an order by a specific date please let me know before you order and I will let you know if I can get it to you on time.

Frequently asked questions:

1. Do you have swatches of your available fabrics for me to look at?

Answer - No. I don't stock any fabrics at my home. Instead I order the fabric for each order online from one of several fabric vendors. After your order is made I will message you asking about your fabric preference and then I will send you links to several fabric swatches to look at to choose from.

2. Do you have a showroom I can visit / pick my order up at?

Answer- Maybe. I work from home but you are welcome to visit for a fitting if you want to visit me in San Antonio, Texas.

3. Do you offer a discount for multiple orders?

Answer- No. I have only worked in my actual cost for fabrics and supplies plus an hourly wage for my labor into my cost. If I give a discount I will be working for less per hour then I am able to accept. Would you want to work overtime for less pay? Me neither.

4. Do you wholesale?

Answer - No.

5. Can you make a copy of one of my beloved vintage dresses that is starting to fall apart?

Answer - Yes! Either send me the dress or send me several detailed pictures of the dress and I can make you a copy.

6. Can you make me a dress based on a vintage fashion illustration or photo?

Answer - Yes! Send me a picture of the illustration/photo and I will do my best.
