1930s Style Surplice Flutter Sleeve Dress with Pleated Skirt Custom Made in Your Size From a Vintage Pattern 1931

Art deco divine!

This dress will be custom made for you in your size using a vintage pattern that is dated 1931. It features a surplice front with shoulder tucks. The pattern suggests the edges of the front bodice to be piped or bound in a contrast bias binding. Your choice of flutter sleeves, short sleeves or long sleeves with decoative cuff. The skirt has hidden pockets above the princess seam panel and kick pleats, as well as pleats at the side seam. The original pattern calls for a snap closure along the side seam but I can use a zipper instead if you prefer. This dress is unlined and comes with a belt.

Please note that since this pattern is from the early 1930s, it will not fit like a modern garment. It is left a bit loose at the front waist where it is supposed to have a bloused effect when worn the belt. The pattern is made to fit a good 3" larger at the waist than your actual waist measurement, yet fitted at the bust and hips. This is typical of most pre 1933 styles.

This dress will be custom made for you to your measurements. Since it is made to order I can make it out of any fabric and color you want. The pattern suggests fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton prinnts, gingham, dotted swiss, sateen, linen, woven rayons or lightweight suiting. However I can make this in any fabric you want, it is up to you!
